In 2014, Fel Sweetenberg is back with a new project. This time, he is accompanied by The Incredible Beatmaker “DJ Brans”, full steam ahead with The EFFISCIENZ’ team for this new release out of Paris, France. This is a wise choice, the sharp and powerful flow of New Jersey’s rapper fits perfectly on Dj Brans most effective production. This album is really personal, the lyrics are a reflection of what inspired Fel, his city: Camden, NJ. That is why there are very little guest features. He is joined by Almighty, who accompanies Fel on a track, “Hyena’s Den” where the two emcees seem to compete in a bestial flow and finally DJ Djaz murders the track at the end with the cuts and scratches. Also featured on the project are Dirt Platoon, the most infamous group out of Baltimore, on “End of The Book” and as always they bring an incredible energy to the track. In short, “The Invisible Garden” is a project that seems flawless, complete with variations in the different states of mind of Fel Sweetenberg over really dope production which is Real Hip-Hop Tradition. This song takes you back to the days of Wildstyle and graffiti bombed NYC subway trains.
Alongside MC Melodee’s raspy voice “Naked City” also features AG of the legendary D.I.T.C. crew, both flowing over an hardknockin 80s instrumental produced by Brady James. The video is directed and recorded by Cut and Dry Productions in Harlem & the Bronx during Melodee’s US Trip last winter.

Whirlwind D has been involved in hip hop since the late 80s. Originally the rapper in Liberty Grooves crew Solid n Mind, he released three 12″ singles on the label all written in the early 1990s. The third of these, ‘Battle Tipped Rhyme’ was finally released in 2010, marking 20 years of Liberty Grooves. Since then, Whirlwind D has resumed his recording career, releasing a number of records and tracks on labels such as B Line Recordings, Tru-Tone and Naked Ape. In this time, he has collaborated with a variety of artists including Mr Thing, Agent Finch & Specifik, Mr Fantastic and Phill Most Chill. In addition, he presents ‘The Pioneers Hip Hop Show’ on Kane FM and writes for a number of magazines.

A little while ago I was flying home from from London after some amazing shows with DJ Vadim. When my family picked me up from the airport and slowly informed me my dad had had a stroke and was in the hospital. It was funny up until that point I never had seen my father in that light. As he started the road to recovery
we began to talk more about everything from his medication to the new music he was into now (Lianne La Havas ) . It’s crazy how many pills they give you and have readily available for all that ails you. But in certain circumstances there’s no medicine, no drug that can really help the situation. And in that, this song lies produced by the all live talented production duo Tensei (Plug Research). With additional buttery vocals from UK soul singer Jazz Bailley.
For me I feel this is one of the best song I have ever written expressing the universal human experience in these days and times. I hope you watch and take a listen to “some music to think to” and share it – Pugs Atomz
